Who We Are

Initially incorporated in December 1982 as Mercantile Stock Brokers Ltd, a subsidiary of Mercantile Credit Ltd. (MCL), Asha Securities Ltd has a rich history. On the 22nd of October 1992, the company changed its name to Allied Stock Brokers and expanded with a branch in Matara. Recognizing the rapid growth of the Colombo stock market, Asha Securities formed an alliance with Phillip Securities of Singapore in 1993, following the industry trend of partnering with foreign brokerage houses. On the 5th of January 1994, the company was renamed Allied Phillip Securities Ltd. Later, with the majority stake acquisition by Mercantile Merchant Bank, the firm became MMBL Philip Securities Ltd in 1998.

In 2003, the firm was rebranded as Asha Securities Ltd when high net worth investor, Mr. M. M. Udeshi acquired 59.22% of the company from Mercantile Merchant Bank. While Phillip Securities retained its holdings in the firm, Asha Securities emerged as a pioneer member of the Colombo Stock Exchange, offering Equity and Debt Trading to investors.
